01Who we are
Daylight Founders ("we", "us", "our") is a digital publishing business based in India, selling downloadable ebooks through this website.
We are the data fiduciary for the personal information described in this policy. If you have any question about it, write to daylight.founders@gmail.com.
02What we collect
We deliberately collect as little as possible. When you buy a book, we collect:
- Your name — so we can address your receipt and any support reply
- Your email address — this is where the download link is sent, so it is required
- Order details — which book or bundle you bought, the amount, the date, and the payment reference ID returned by our payment gateway
- Support correspondence — anything you send us by email or Instagram DM, kept so we can follow up on your request
We do not collect or store your card number, UPI PIN, CVV, bank login, or any other payment credential. Those are entered directly into the payment gateway's own secure window and never reach our systems.
03How we use your information
- To process your payment and deliver the ebook you paid for
- To send your receipt and download link, and to re-send them if you lose them
- To answer your support questions and honour bundle-upgrade adjustments
- To notify you if we update a book you have already bought
- To keep records we are legally required to keep for tax and accounting
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to anyone. We do not add you to a marketing list without your consent, and any marketing email we do send will carry a one-click unsubscribe link.
04Payments
Payments on this site are processed by Razorpay Software Private Limited, a payment aggregator authorised by the Reserve Bank of India. When you pay, your card, UPI, netbanking or wallet details are collected and processed by Razorpay under their own privacy policy and their PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure.
All we receive back from Razorpay is a payment reference ID, the amount, the status, and the contact details you entered. You can read how Razorpay handles your data at razorpay.com/privacy.
05Who else sees your data
We share the minimum necessary with a small number of service providers who help us run the store:
- Razorpay — payment processing and fraud checks
- Our email provider — to deliver your receipt and download link
- Our file host — stores the PDF files your download link points to
- Government authorities — only where we are legally required to disclose, for example a valid tax or law-enforcement request
06Cookies and analytics
This website does not set advertising or tracking cookies of its own. The payment gateway sets cookies that are strictly necessary for the checkout window to work and to prevent fraud. Your browser may also store your order details temporarily so that the confirmation page can show your receipt — this stays on your device and clears when you close the tab.
Web fonts on this site are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address as part of that request.
07How long we keep it
We keep order records — name, email, product, amount, payment reference — for as long as we are required to under Indian tax and accounting law, which is generally eight years from the end of the relevant financial year. Support emails are kept for up to two years. After that, records are deleted or anonymised.
08Your rights
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal data of yours we hold and who we shared it with
- Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
- Erase your data, where we are not legally required to keep it
- Withdraw consent for any optional processing, such as marketing email
- Nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf if you are unable to
Email daylight.founders@gmail.com from the address you bought with and we will respond within 30 days. Note that erasing your order record may make it impossible for us to re-send your book or honour a bundle upgrade later.
09Security
Order data is held in access-controlled accounts protected by strong, unique passwords and two-factor authentication. Payment data never touches our systems. That said, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the Data Protection Board as required by law.
10Children
Our products are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us data, write to us and we will delete it.
11Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the "last updated" date at the top. Material changes affecting how we use data you already gave us will also be sent to you by email.
